Liz is right. They stay in the field most of the rotation. There wouldn't even be much point is staying in lodging since he'd be in the field and there isn't much in the way of sight seeing here. But, if you decide to come down for a visit, let me know and I'll do my best to hook you up w/ information.

JRTC is where the training is done before a deployment. For most people it is about a month and I am almost positive that you can not go with him. From what my husband explained to me, JRTC is pretty much war games. All the services go there to Ft. Polk to prepare for a deployment by practicing against the people that are actually stationed there. You should check out the Polk website and it can probably answer most of your questions.

Does anyone know much about Joint Readiness Training Center? It is in Ft. Polk and my DH has to go before deployment but I don’t know when. Does anyone know how long they go for and if I can go with them?
